SUSTAINABLE FARMING TECHNIQUES
While agriculture is a mainstay of the Kenyan economy, droughts as well has the high cost of food have left many Kenyans unable to properly feed themselves. It’s believed that roughly 10 million people—about a quarter of the population—are food insecure, according to the Food Security Portal. More than 40 per cent of Africans do not have the ability to obtain sufficient food on a daily basis For African farmers, conventional fertilizers cost two to six times more than the world market price
Our strategy is to :
- Bring immediate food to those in need. At the same time look at solutions to grow their own food. This could include, but not limited to:
- Irrigated school and community farms
- Medicinal gardens
- School environment clubs
- Agriculture training and seed distribution programs
- School nutrition programs
